The open-source dispcalGUI, which is a nice GUI for the
monitor-calibration parts of ArgyllCMS

Commercially, CineSpace runs on Linux (which we use with the same
i-display pro 2). There's also Truelight (although I've not used it for
monitor calibration - I assume that part of the software runs on Linux
also..?)

under this OS we could go with a "by eye" approach but we do have a
x-rite display pro 2 bit of hardware but no linux software so any
