ah yes got it now, I was looking at the output line of pulldowns not the pre multiply line of outputs first to none and the mask to rgba.alpha.

I thought I knew what was ment by creating a layer for the alpha, I did this in the alpha pull down of output but the alpha does not come though, I have a solid alpha in the footage and with or with out that I do not get the result I am after.
