Texturing ModelBuilder geo is a little more involved than simply connecting an image to the tex input.You'll need to either project the image onto the geo, or define a UV layout to apply the texture to. For details, click the "?" help button in the ModelBuilder node to get to the main page for the node, then scroll down and follow the link for step 6 in the "Quick Start" list for more information on Applying Textures.
