We did add back the font size control preferences to 9.0v4b23 which we
released recently. Unfortunately a lot of the native high dpi application
scaling features are in the 5.x versions of QT ( many in the recent 5.4
which shipped last month ). I use Kubuntu on my retina macbook pro and
which has an optional plasma 5 install that is qt5 native. Only now am I
finally getting a UI which scales well.

Right now and for the immediate future we are on QT version 4.8 which is
required by vfxplatform. I would petition them to update if you want to
see better high dpi scaling across the DCC application universe (Maya,
Mocha, Fabric, etc...).
