if you have keyframes on your shape, right click on the shape and select No animation -> curve (all). that should take out all the keyframes. Then check that auto-key is off and it shouldn’t add any new keyframes when you edit the shape

Seriously, I guess yeah that works. I could end up with a lot of keys, but if they’re all the same then the result is the same. But just so I know, is that the only way? Essentially I’m looking for the same functionality in AE of never enabling the keyframe button. I feel like sometimes turing off auto key has that effect, but sometimes it doesn’t.
