Hi Andrew, I have developed various workflows for EXR, Nuke & Photoshop, depending on which path you’re following. I would be happy to share what has worked for us if you want to correspond privately about it. I have shared info in the discussions on the Foundry Community Discussion Forums before, so it’s not that I want to keep anything secret. I just don’t have the time right now to debate the advantages and disadvantages for various alternate workflows. I can tell you what works for us and you can decide if it fits into what you’re trying to accomplish. I spent (many) hours researching and trying out combinations before stumbling upon what works for our situation. Maybe your needs are similar? Any time Adobe Photoshop and ICC Profiles get into the mix, it can get very… “interesting”... ;^)
Most of our deliverables end up as large, 8 bit sRGB, layered PSD files. We also need to retouch EXR layered files for a return trip back to Nuke. What we do is not complicated, but it requires strict adherence to a particular workflow and preview setup in order to guarantee that "what you see is what you get”! Shoot me a reply if you’re interested and I’ll write up the steps we go through, depending on the path that the images are following… Rich Rich Bobo Senior VFX Compositor Armstrong White Email: [email protected] http://armstrong-white.com/ Email: [email protected] Mobile: (248) 840-2665 Web: http://richbobo.com/ "A professional is someone who can do his best work when he doesn't feel like it." - Alistair Cooke > On Dec 9, 2016, at 6:37 PM, Andrew Mumford <[email protected]> wrote: > > Does anyone have a good cheet sheet / workflow for setting up color > management in Adobe PS or AE for round tripping via EXR > PS > Nuke ? > > Thx > --- > Andrew Mumford > > On Dec 08, 2016, at 05:23 PM, Frank Rueter|OHUfx <[email protected]> wrote: > >> In case people are interested (windows only unfortunately): >> http://www.exr-io.com/features/ <http://www.exr-io.com/features/> >> >> This is via a friend of mine so feedback would be appreciate. >> >> -- >> <ohufxLogo_50x50.png> <http://www.ohufx.com/> vfx compositing >> <http://ohufx.com/index.php/vfx-compositing> | workflow customisation and >> consulting <http://ohufx.com/index.php/vfx-customising> >> _______________________________________________ >> Nuke-users mailing list >> [email protected] >> <mailto:[email protected]>, >> http://forums.thefoundry.co.uk/ <http://forums.thefoundry.co.uk/> >> http://support.thefoundry.co.uk/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/nuke-users >> <http://support.thefoundry.co.uk/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/nuke-users>_______________________________________________ > Nuke-users mailing list > [email protected], http://forums.thefoundry.co.uk/ > http://support.thefoundry.co.uk/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/nuke-users
