In Nuke 7 or 8, for ScanlineRender node, they enabled depth map shadows for only direct lights. You must enable cast shadows in the light properties and use the scale value of the light to make sure its "field of view" encompasses the receiving object.
Nuke 10 has the RayRender in beta, which should be able to perform raytrace shadows for any light type, afaik.
