Hi Justin -

I am running Mavericks with XCode 5.02 currently, so I don't know if
Mountain Lion will have an effect. Here are some steps that I hope will
help you out:

   - Fork and clone, or clone NuPIC: https://github.com/numenta/nupic
   - Fork and clone, or clone nupic-darwin64:
   https://github.com/numenta/nupic-darwin64
   - cd to your nupic-darwin64 repo.
   - checkout the python2.7 branch: git checkout -t origin/python-2.7
   - In the nupic-darwin64 repo, edit this file: bin/activate and add these
environment variables at the top of the file, filling in the proper value
   for the $NUPIC variable:
   # Installation path
   export NTA=$HOME/nta/eng
   # Target source/repo path. Defaults to $PWD
   export NUPIC=/path/to/nupic
   # Convenience variable for temporary build files
   export BUILDDIR=/tmp/ntabuild
   # Number of jobs to run in parallel (optional)
   export MK_JOBS=3
   - Now, source the 'activate' file to add these environment variables to
your shell (assuming you are running this command from the root of the
   nupic-darwin64 repo: source bin/activate
   - Build the python dependencies by running make: make
   - Build NuPIC: $NUPIC/build.sh
   - Run the tests and hotgym examples as found here:
   https://github.com/numenta/nupic#try-it-out
