The PR has been merged into master (Matt asked me to do it while he is galavanting in Alcatraz). We still likely have some work to before it is reliable for everyone, so please let us know of problems.
I want to take this opportunity to give a shout out to David Ragazzi. He almost single handedly did the full port to CMake. This is a complete overhaul of our build system and no small task. While debugging it yesterday I was very impressed at how detailed and thorough he was.
