Aseem, Jeff won't be participating as a mentor for SoN. And Subutai has volunteered to mentor only one proposal [1]. They are going to be spending their time this summer working on new TP ideas [2], so I don't think having them play a major mentoring role will be possible.
The idea you proposed [3] is a very popular idea (to link CLAs in a hierarchy). However, for a true full-blown hierarchy, the current algorithms won't work well because we are missing the proper temporal pooling component (one of the things Jeff and Subutai will be working on this year). You could still create a hierarchy and see what happens, and you might get some benefits. The deep learning folks, for example, create hierarchies without any temporal component -- they just have a spatial hierarchy. That being said, I suggest you adjust your HOW ARE YOU example in the idea to something non-lexical. Truthfully, it was hard for me to follow, and I don't think your expectations are achievable today.
