Hey Chandan, I feel like Numenta events are frequent enough for us to be in touch with the state of NuPIC. The cool thing about the Bay Area, though, is that there are plenty of organizations exploring ideas related to neuroscience-based AI. If we do a meetup and invite people not only from this mailing list, but also from Berkeley, Stanford, Vicarious, IBM, Google Research, etc. - I think it will be interesting for all those involved.
