Thanks, Fergal and Felix. I'm interested in any upcoming Q&A / tutorials that may occur.

You are right, Comportex needs a development roadmap and documentation. However I will not put dates on these because the project is still in experimental phase. Indeed, the details of HTM algorithms are still under active research. Once Temporal Pooling has been demonstrated to be working well then I will consider stabilising the API, making releases etc. I like the idea of a Q&A session on Comportex, if anyone is interested. Depending on the audience it might be more of a "round table". On licensing, you would also have a chat with Numenta about any commercial application of HTM (noting their intellectual property / patents). Clortex is only partially implemented (I've been busy with theory). Its focus is more at the systems level than at the CLA level. Comportex is a full implementation, as you can see from Felix' and Marcus' hackathon videos. Perhaps we could ask Felix if he's interested in doing a similar tutorial/Q&A on his software. Clortex is GPL, which makes it unusable for commercial software, whereas Comportex is dual-licensed (EPL-licensing being sufficiently liberal). -- Fergal Byrne, Brenter IT @fergbyrne http://inbits.com - Better Living through Thoughtful Technology http://ie.linkedin.com/in/fergbyrne/ - https://github.com/fergalbyrne Founder of Clortex: HTM in Clojure - https://github.com/nupic-community/clortex Co-creator @OccupyStartups Time-Bombed Open License http://occupystartups.me Author, Real Machine Intelligence with Clortex and NuPIC Read for free or buy the book at https://leanpub.com/realsmartmachines e:[email protected] t:+353 83 4214179 Join the quest for Machine Intelligence at http://numenta.org Formerly of Adnet [email protected] http://www.adnet.ie -- Felix Andrews / 安福立 http://www.neurofractal.org/felix/
