Hello NuPIC,

I am very excited to announce that the Numenta HTM Challenge is live
and ready for submissions!

Hopefully, the links above have all the info you need. But just to
distill it down for you...

The Challenge is a remote programming contest for creating HTM
applications. Participants must submit their ideas for approval. We
(Numenta) will help to ensure your submissions are in good shape
before approving them. All approved submissions will be visible in a
public gallery. Demo videos are due November 6 -- one week before the
Onsite -- so that judges and the public can view all demos.

The Friday before the Onsite is a community event (let Fergal know if
you want to help with this) that is still being worked out. The Onsite
will be an all-day thing with (at least) 2 presentations by Jeff H and
Subutai about HTM. The rest of the day will be demo viewing and
judging (and probably some door prizes). Anyone may RSVP to either
event, even if they are not submitting a project to the Challenge.

!! CALL TO ACTION !!

WE NEED SUBMISSIONS. The worst thing that could happen is that not
enough people submit realistic projects to the Challenge, and we end
up with just a handful of projects. My personal goal is to have at
least 20 submissions to judge.

How can you help? PROMOTE THE EVENT! If you are a member of any local
programming groups, user groups, college clubs, etc. that might have
members interested in HTM, please tell them about the Challenge. Share
this on Twitter [1], Facebook [2], whatever. This is a remote event,
so anyone in the world may participate, so we have a MUCH larger
potential pool of participants. So one challenge we face is reaching
them all. If you are going to share only one link, please link to this
blog post, which contains all the essential info:
