Hello NuPIC, I'm not a religious person, but like many Americans I take this opportunity to remember how fortunate I am to have been born under the particular circumstances that have enabled me to prosper as a human being, a familial provider, and a technological adventurer.
Talent and ability are so often left neglected on this planet because we as humans have not developed a global environment where every person has the opportunity to thrive and bring their special gifts to the rest of the population. If you are reading this email, you can no doubt count yourself as one of the lucky few. I don't know why you are here, but I have been drawn to this community in many ways because I believe that this technology will make this world better, and help create those crucial opportunities for countless people missing them. I shamelessly yearn for no less than a utopian world. No matter why you are here, thank you all for your presence, your passion, and your commitment to this work.
