Under the direct supervision of the UN Coordination Center’s Information 
Management Officer (IMO), and in association with an information management 
team, the candidate will provide data management support to staff of the UN 
Coordination Centre and Clusters, in order to improve the overall quality of 
data collection, management, analysis, exchange and dissemination. 

Responsibilities: 
-        Undertake database development on behalf of the UN Coordination Centre 
including database design and development, query and interface design, report 
writing and documentation; 
-        Undertake database management including data collection from external 
partners, data import and export, data entry, and quality control; 
-        Provide training to staff of the UN and partner agencies on database 
design and management; 
-        Manage UN Coordination Centre information systems, including a ‘who 
what where’ database, contact database and schedule of meetings. Develop new 
tools to meet the needs of the humanitarian and recovery community; 
-        Prepare periodic, reports, extracting information and preparing 
statistical tables upon request; 
-        Lay-out reports using word-processing, and spreadsheet software; check

-        Provide support to Information Technology staff in the Coordination 
Centre in the areas of hardware and software installation, printer setup, 
trouble-shooting and other related tasks. 

Qualifications and Experience 
-        Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field; 
-        At least 3 years experience working in Microsoft Access including all 
aspects of database design, development, management and operation. The 
candidate will be required to demonstrate their expertise in this application; 
-        At least 3 years experience working with other office applications, 
including spreadsheets and word processing. The candidate will be required to 
demonstrate their expertise in these applications;   
-        Good command of written and spoken English, and ability to communicate 
with users; 
-        Good communication and interpersonal skills and experience in working

2. Position:        GIS Assistant 
Office:                UN Coordination Centre, Yogyakarta, Indonesia 
Reporting to:        Information Management Officer 
Duration:        Three months 

Under the direct supervision of the UN Coordination Center’s Information 
Management Officer (IMO), and in association with an information management 
team, the candidate will provide GIS and mapping support to staff of the UN 
Coordination Centre and Clusters, in order to improve the overall quality of 
data collection, management, analysis, exchange and dissemination 

Responsibilities: 
-        Liaise with counterpart staff in government agencies, national NGO’s, 
and members of the international response community in matters related to data 
collection, GIS and mapping; 
-        Develop and maintain spatial databases on the relief effort, including 
database design, development, interface construction, report design and 
updating; 
-        Develop and produce high quality map products according to the needs 
of the humanitarian and recovery community; 
-        Promote data and map standards and provide related technical support 
to organizations; 
-        Manage spatial data and organize these data into a documented data 
management system; 
-        Undertake data cleaning, entry, and maintenance; 
-        Any other tasks as directed by the IMO. 

Qualifications and Experience 
-        University degree in Geography, Geology, GIS or equivalent discipline. 
  
-        Practical experience in using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) 
including 3 years experience with ESRI’s ArcView, ArcMap or ArcInfo; 
-        Practical experience in data management including 2 years experience 
with Microsoft Access and Excel;

3. Position:        Web Administrator 
Office:                UN Coordination Centre, Yogyakarta, Indonesia 
Reporting to:        Information Management Officer 
Duration:        Three months 

Responsibilities: 
-        Support process of design, construction and maintenance of the UN 
Earthquake Response Website in Indonesia, in consultation with the UNCT Web 
Manager in Jakarta and OCHA staff in Yogyakarta. 
-        Prioritize the Earthquake Response website, enhancing visibility, user 
friendly layout and re-organization and update of content 
-        Install a modern, easy-to-use but secure content management system 
-        Manage links and cross promotions with other sites, ensuring that 
links are current (both to related UN sites, and to external sites, where 
requested) 
-        Provide necessary support maintenance for the web site 
-        Produce a consistent visual image on the site by promoting uniform 
fonts, formatting, icons, images, layout techniques, and modularization, 
including maintenance of template and image archives. 
-        Develop graphics, logos and related multimedia content as necessary 
-        Assess new standards, technologies and trends, and formulate 
strategies for enhancing the site, e.g. periodic review web usability through 
surveys 
-        Maintain cross-platform and cross-browser compatibility so that the 
web site is accessible from a variety of different environments. 
-        Determine appropriate compression techniques, resolutions, sizes, 
colour maps, and depths to insure that images are delivered at sufficiently 
high speed and quality. 
-        Check bugs and problems, diagnose and fix them. 
-        Ensure that all Webmaster emails receive timely responses. 
-        Analyze traffic statistics and report relevant information and ‘who, 
what & why’ on a monthly basis. 
-        Collaborate with other Webmasters or COs through exchange of content 
and ideas. 
-        Assist with development of various web-based tools we may wish to 
develop (surveys etc) 
-        Assist in design and setup of web-based workspace/discussion forum for 
the ICOG 
-        Produce and constantly update documentation to ensure consistency on 
websites and promotional items. 
-        Maintain multimedia content in a database for easy access and 
retrieval. 

Qualifications and Experience 
-        Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field. 
-        Minimum 5 years web development experience.  Advanced proficiency with 
HTML, including style sheets, templates, complex tables, frames and image maps. 
 Must possess working knowledge of basic composition, page layout, art and 
office/web software packages such as MS Word, Excel, Dreamweaver, Adobe 
PageMaker, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat (or Free/Open Source Software 
equivalents). 
-        Some experience with Linux/Unix system administration. 
-        Experience in programming in ASP, PHP and .NET NUKE scripting 
languages and the willingness to learn new development environments. 
-        Some experience with Content Management System (CMS).

Duties and Responsibilities: 
-        Under the supervision of the UN Area Coordinator, Yogyakarta & Central 
Java, provide administrative support and Financial assistance to the operations 
in Yogyakarta city, Bantul and Klaten. 
-        Become the administrative focal point for UN Cluster Office in 
Yogyakarta. 
-        Assisting Admin/Finance Officer. 
-        Liase with Operation Unit UNDP/RC/HC office in Jakarta on 
administrative issue of UN Cluster Office. 
-        Arrange all financial related matters, i.e payment for expenditures, 
prepare account report of the disbursement of operational fund, also arrange 
for replenishment 
-        Travel Arrangement.

5. Post Title:         Information Technology (IT) Assistant

Description of Duties: 
Under the general supervision of the UN Area Coordinator Yogyakarta & Central 
Java, the Information Technology Assistant will carry out the following support 
functions: 
-        Ensure the uptime and stability of UN Yogyakarta LAN, both wired LAN 
and wireless LANs 
-        Maintenance of Local Area Network (LAN) between wired and wireless. 
-        Setup of new computers in the Local Area Network, such as installation 
of  necessary Softwares 
-        Procurement and ordering of  hardware   
-        Setup the workgroup for OCHA’s server Local Area Network, such as 
Files and Printer Sharing 
-        Maintenance of Computer Hardware, Software and Peripheral 
-        Ensure the stability of OCHA’s internet connection (Lotus) 
-        Monitoring of users connections to the wireless internet connection 
-        Maintenance of OCHA’s servers and all users, including the protection 
from viruses and malicious accesses 
-        Maintenance of server backup procedure 
-        Regular maintenance of Lotus Notes, Domino Server E-mail system, as 
well as File Server in cooperation with OCHA Headquarters

Duties and Responsibilities: 
The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), wishes to 
engage the services of a Coordination and Liaison Officer. The successful 
candidate will be based in The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian 
Affairs (OCHA) in Jogyakarta. The incumbent will report to the UN Area 
Coordinator in Jogyakarta. 

The incumbent will: 
-        Undertake regular data collection, field assessments and analysis in 
the areas of responsibility in order to ensure that relief and recovery 
activities are being implemented in an effective and coherent manner, with a 
particular emphasis on ensuring that the needs of vulnerable populations are 
met; 
-        Identify gaps and overlaps in distribution of relief items and in 
early recovery efforts and formulate recommendations for action and assist in 
resolution of various issues requiring facilitation and mediation; 
-        Liaise with local authorities, NGOs, civil society and UN agencies in 
the areas of responsibility to facilitate information exchange and promote 
collaboration and cooperation; 
-        Organize and facilitate coordination and information sharing meetings 
and provide secretariat support to such meeting as required; 
-        Represent the Field Office in coordination and information sharing and 
other meetings and official functions, as assigned; 
-        Provide inputs to regular field reporting, sitrep and participate in 
field work plans and progress monitoring and evaluation; 
-        Facilitate assessment missions in the areas of responsibility with the 
government, UN, Donors, NGOs and civil society;   
-        Provide translation at meetings, as well as translate any relevant 
documents, as assigned; 
-        Any other duties, as assigned. 

Requirements: 
-        Bachelor Degree in social science or other relevant subject; 
-        Familiarity with the humanitarian situation, programmes and Government 
policy related to the needs of people affected by natural disaster in 
Jogyakarta; 
-        At least 8 years of relevant work experience; 
-        Excellent oral and written communication in both English and 
Indonesian; 
-        Excellent diplomatic and interpersonal skills; 
-        Familiarity with the United Nations system and its mandate, and 
humanitarian issues;

7. Functional Title :         Office Clerk

Duty Station:                 Yogyakarta 

Duties and Responsibilities: 
-        Under the direct supervision of the Information Management Officer, 
the incumbent will perform the following functions: 
-        Arrange appointments and maintain supervisors calendar, receives 
visitors, places and screens telephone calls and answers queries with 
discretion. 
-        Arrange meetings both internal and external, some involving 
high-ranking officials, and takes minutes and /or notes at meetings. 
-        Providing additional interpreting and translation capacity both from 
English-Bahasa Indonesia and Bahasa-Indonesia to English as required and on 
occasion accompany international staff to meetings or field visits 
-        Assisting the information and technology systems assistant to maintain 
an effective hard copy and electronic filing system 
-        Receive, screens, logs and routes correspondence, attaches necessary 
background information and maintains follow-up system. 
-        Manage and updates policy, confidential and general files. 
-        Clears correspondence for conformity with established procedures and 
accuracy of statements before being signed by supervisor. 
-        Assist in keeping lists of names, addresses and telephone numbers of 
UN agencies, NGO’s, ministers, government officials and members of the 
diplomatic corps. 
-        Performs any other duties as required. 

Qualification: 
-        Diploma education and some courses in secretary skills 
-        A minimum of four years working experience using MS Word/Excel/Power

8. Post Title:Liaison Officer 
Duty Station:  Yogjakarta, Indonesia

The United Nations Liaison Officer (UNLO) will work under the Overall 
supervision  of  The Area Coordinator of the  United Nations  in Yogjakarta - 
Indonesia,  while  receiving day-to-day guidance and support from the  Deputy 
Area Coordinator. The UNLO will work in close collaboration with UN agencies, 
regional and international organizations and Indonesian government officials in 
the disaster affected districts / provinces. 

Main Objectives and Responsibilities: 
a. To  assist  the  overall coordination of the UN Earthquake response 
operation in terms of promoting the closer and harmonious coordination between 
the UN operation and counterparts particularly the government. This objective 
includes the following main responsibilities: 
-        Represent the UN operation in its day-to-day engagement with the 
officials of the Indonesian government 
-        Facilitate the communication between the UN operation and the relevant 
government agencies. 
-        Co-organise regular and incidental meeting of UN agencies/ INGOs/ NGOs 
with the government and report the meeting outcomes to the UN Operation 
coordination meeting 
-        Provide impact and needs assessment, information management, 
coordination of relief operations and assist in the preparation of regular 
updates to the UN operation. 
-        Advise the Area Coordinator on the management of the UN response 
activities and ensure the facilitation for timely and adequate planning for, 
management of, and reporting on the use of such activities. 
-        Assist the UN operation in the transition from the relief phase to the 
recovery/rehabilitation phase. 
-        Provide advice to Government on international response resources and 
processes available in the UN Operation 
-        Work closely with UN Information Assistant - where present - in a 
common effort to identify, prioritize and help address humanitarian needs  
arising from Yogjakarta earthquake. 
b. To  assist in the strengthening of partnership of UN Operation in terms of 
coordination amongst UN agencies as well as with other international agencies. 
INGOs and NGOs and the communities. This objective includes the following main 
responsibilities: 
-        Lead, participate in, or facilitate the interagency meeting in the 
relevant geographical areas. 
-        Provide support to the UN agencies and their partners in strengthening 
the  coordination of their individual and collective disaster response efforts. 
-        Promote the capacity building of Local government and NGOs 
-        Disseminating information from the UN Operation to other UN agencies 
and their partners 
-        Promote the continuous communication between the UN Operation, its 
partners and the communities they seek to serve. 
c..    To manage the UN presence in the locality. This objective includes the 
following main responsibilities: 
-        Plan, implement and evaluate UN operation activities in the locality. 
-        Make requisition for and be accountable to resources necessary for 
running the UN representation in the locality 
-        Ascertain a coordinated implementation of UN operation 
-        Supervise the performance of the UN Information Assistant

Qualifications 
-        Education: Completed  university degree (Bachelor Degree) in  
political, social  or  economic  sciences,  public health or civil engineering; 
or  the equivalent combination of education and experience in a related area. 
-        Experience: Minimum  of  three years  of  progressively  responsible   
relevant experience  in  management, preferably related to emergency  
preparedness,  crisis/emergency relief  management, rehabilitation  and 
development, or other related area 
-        Skills: Familiarity with the UN system, experience in working in and 
with international organizations would be an asset; Excellent inter-cultural

b. To  assist in the strengthening of partnership of UN Operation in terms of
