I would like to suggest that if we modify the IANA registration of nut/3493, we do it formally using the official IANA form https://www.iana.org/form/ports-services , and that we agree on the form contents before submitting it. For example, who is the new assignee and who is the new contact?

The last thing the IANA services manager needs is to talk to an unstructured crowd of us.

Hey
preliminary notice: I'm retired from the project, really got no time, despite a

Did you make this request on the official IANA form
https://www.iana.org/form/ports-services ? This requires you to give
answers to
the questions IANA ask.  Could you post the form on the dev list?

I've made no request.
The initial IANA registration was done by Russell Kroll, the initial NUT
project lead.
so I've no info, and as per my initial mail, the pointed URL was 404

We are a project, but not a formal organisation.  This should be made
clear, and
references given to the project, the project's product: NUT 2.7.4, and the
      protocol.

Is he still alive?  I couldn't find clear indication either way.

Perhaps it would be better to continue this discussion on the dev list.

I'll be connecting you all with Michelle, so that you can clarify and complete
this.

cheers,
Arno
