Yes. This effectively converts an online UPS to an offline UPS without power reconditioning, but significantly improves energy efficiency, which can be useful in certain circumstances. Running UPS in ECO mode is generally seen as an informed decision made by users who are well-aware of the risks and tradeoffs here.
