Since this driver is marked "experimental", I suppose we can add that
without worrying too much.

Yes, it's should be correct..but It is advise to setup the port's
speed before start any communication...probably port's speed was set
to default to 115200 or
38400, but this speed was too fast to read any status change from ups.
