Oops, sorry, too quick to post; ignore my last message. Your correct driver
is indeed usbhid-ups, and your device was detected without the vendorid and
productid lines.

In stead, you should focus on the connection timeout (from the following
line in the -DDD output):
   4.519715    Unable to get Report descriptor: Connection timed out
