Hi,
blazer_ser implements Megatec protocol. Your UPS uses Modbus protocol, that is completely incompatible with megatec. At www.modbus.org there is a libmodbus source code available. As I could see there is none nutdriver compatible. One may be implemented since the library provides functions for I/O and modbus frames decoding. This takes time, hard work and interaction with the owner of UPS, since it is not so trivial and need a lot of tests, beyond responsibility terms. The development will takes, at least, 720 Hours*man (guessing!). There is a restriction while I was visiting the socomec site: "The software described is given on the basis of a license contract and an obligation to secrecy (i.e. an obligation not to further publicise the software material)." Is it Including documentation? If it is the situation then the development (guessing) time is under estimated or even impossible. I have not been able to find much info regarding Socomec UPS support in nut. Socomec does publish a description of the serial protocol for these UPS's, which can be found here: http://www.socomec.com/download-jbus-modbus.html (select UPS OTHER for device model, 1-5KVA for device power and Linux for the operating system) This is all the info I have managed to find about the serial protocol for these UPS's. How much work is involved to patch an existing driver or to build a new one? I am not a programmer, so I not know how much work is involved to fix or create a driver. Is there perhaps already a driver which might support this type of UPS? Or is there a copyright issue with these UPS's? Thanks in advance.
