Hi Kjell, I'm having a bit of trouble getting the driver to load. I am using nut 2.0.2 and bcmxcp 0.08 I downloaded from <http://web.telia.com/~u50205618/downloads.html>
Here is my current ups.conf [EMAIL PROTECTED] etc]# pwd /usr/local/ups/etc [EMAIL PROTECTED] etc]# cat ups.conf [hpr5500] driver = bcmxcp port = /dev/ttyS0 baud_rate = 19200 desc = "Encoda02" Here is what I get: [EMAIL PROTECTED] etc]# /usr/local/ups/bin/upsdrvctl start Network UPS Tools - UPS driver controller 2.0.2 Network UPS Tools - BCMXCP UPS driver 0.08 (2.0.2) Fatal error: 'baud_rate' is not a valid variable name for this driver. Look in the man page or call this driver with -h for a list of valid variable names and flags. Without the line baud_rate = 19200 I get: [EMAIL PROTECTED] etc]# cat ups.conf [hpr5500] driver = bcmxcp port = /dev/ttyS0 # baud_rate = 19200 desc = "Encoda02" [EMAIL PROTECTED] etc]# /usr/local/ups/bin/upsdrvctl start Network UPS Tools - UPS driver controller 2.0.2 Network UPS Tools - BCMXCP UPS driver 0.08 (2.0.2) Communications with UPS lost: Receive error (PW_COMMAND_START_BYTE): -1!!! If I disconnect the serial cable at the UPS and use a jumper on the breakout box to wrap the data from pin 2 to 3, I get character echos on minicom. I followed the instructions about ownership and permissions for /dev/ttyS0. This is RHEL3. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hi Denny. Btw if you don't set the baud_rate in the config, it goes into baud-hunting. And it would report the rate it connect at. Then you may set it in the config to get a faster start-up. Look at the man page for the driver. Pleas report any problems/success to me. Kjell mån 2005-11-07 klockan 09:57 -0600 skrev Denny Fox: > Great!
