Greetings Charles; I eventually gave up making it work on ubuntu-10.04.4 LTS, and that drive is slowly curling up its toes, so I am running wheezy on a fresher drive now.
I have installed all the nut stuffs from the repo, and now have two more scripts in /etc/init.d called nut-client and nut-server. dmesg |grep Belkin - : root@coyote:/etc/nut# dmesg|grep Belkin [ 4.242066] usb 2-3: Product: Belkin UPS [ 4.242069] usb 2-3: Manufacturer: Belkin [ 4.975284] generic-usb 0003:050D:0751.0001: hiddev0,hidraw0: USB HID v1.11 Device [Belkin Belkin UPS] on usb-0000:00:02.0-3/input0 I have added this stanza to /etc/nut/nut.conf: [myups] driver=generic-usb port=/dev/ttyUSB0 Some attempts to start nut-server: root@coyote:/etc/nut# /etc/init.d/nut-server start [ ok ] Starting NUT - power devices information server and drivers: (driver(s) failed). upsd. root@coyote:/etc/nut# /etc/init.d/nut-server stop [ ok ] Stopping NUT - power devices information server and drivers: upsd (driver(s) failed). root@coyote:/etc/nut# /etc/init.d/nut-server start [ ok ] Starting NUT - power devices information server and drivers: (driver(s) failed). upsd. root@coyote:/etc/nut# /etc/init.d/nut-server status Checking status of NUT - power devices information server and drivers [ ok ] upsd is running. Even though I installed nut-doc, there are no man pages so I am running in the dark again. Where is the initial config and startup procedure to be found? ISTR it was a web page at one time. Thanks Charles. Cheers, Gene Heskett -- "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
