Sorry Doug for wasting your time.
In fact, I use NetBeans SVN diff command to generate the patch and it seems
that it "breaks" the encoding.
Attached is a new patch version, diretly generated by svn diff command line.
I tested it on the trunk and it patches without problems.
One more time, sorry for wasting your time for such a newbie error.
