Can you please send a version of nutch-page.xsl that does not include the right column at all, a two-column version? Then I can commit your changes as the default "skin" for Nutch.
I went ahead and made these changes myself. So the new look is now live on the website!

Search result pages don't look great, but neither do they look terrible. I changed the background color of the footer to white to improve search result pages.
