Can I use a queryfilter by specifying it in the plugin.xml with the raw-fields parameter defined, even if it does not derive from RawFieldQueryFilter ?
Yes. The raw-fields parameter names fields that, when they appear in a query, will be passed un-tokenized to the filter. RawFieldQueryFilter is a utility base class mean to handle this sort of field, but you can use any class that implements the QueryFilter interface.
