Hi Doug,
I visited your presentation at WOS3 in Berlin. The following piece of news might interest you. It's in German, from the magazine publisher heise.de, which publishes Germany's biggest computer magazine c't.

Briefly, it says that the German parliament (Bundestag) has been discussing the problem of Google's, Yahoo's, and Microsoft's dominance in Internet search engines, and that there is a need to sponsor the development of free search engines.
The technical expert speaking before the parliament last Thursday was Mr. Helmut Pralle, professor emeritus, former leader of the regional computing center for Lower Saxony at the University of Hanover, http://www.rvs.uni-hannover.de/people/pralle.html http://www.rtb-nord.uni-hannover.de/mitarbeiter/pralle.html
The article also makes reference to another heise.de article, http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/48166 which reports from the WOS3 conference and your presentation there.
