Uh, you are mixing apples and oranges (where I come from they say "pears and apples", but that sounds funny in English).
Resin is a servlet engine (like Tomcat or Jetty, for example). HotSpot is a "JVM technology" java hardware accellerator card - I don't know what this is. Try describing what you are trying to do, what are you crawling, how are you doing it, how big is your index, how many searches you need to handle, etc., and then others may be able to provide more help.
