Hi,
You can write a index filter plugin and add categories to the index,
just take a look to the creative commons plugin.
You can query the categories with a custom query filter plugin.
The company I'm working for also provide a commercial text
classification library, but I'm very sure you can fit your needs with
a own index plugin.

But what I need is to have predefined categories and to categorize
