Hi Stefan

        I am explicitly trying to avoid deployment on root.
I have changed
<form action="/search.jsp"
parameter to
<form action="search.jsp"

that way I can deploy my nutch in any context.
Secondly as suggested by you changed searcher.dir to my local absolute path.

can you help me what nutch class is looking for the XMLs in that specific folder
or is it bit related to

private static void loadResource(String name, boolean quietFail) {
method in NutchConf.

Thanks n Regards
Chetan

Is your nutch-default.xml in
tomcat/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/classes?
If not copy the file to this location.
In general the file exists as well in
YOUNUTCHOME/config/
