Hello Zennet
Very common mistake for anyone doing nutch first time.
nutch-default.xml is a file that helps nutch take configured value.
look for tag searcher.dir
you will have to change the value to absolute path where you db and segments
folder are located. if itz in /home/usr/zennet/nutch then put this path.
Secondly, you will have to look for plugins.folder tag in nutch-defalut.xml
file.
change that path to plugin folder available with nutch installation.
save it and this should work.
Looking at the error message, I am guessing that you are trying to run some
nutch job through java code.
these two files and other startup info is generally placed in nutch/conf folder.
make sure that conf folder is in your classpath.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Chetan

I get it when I compile the nutch jar from source, but not if i use an
older, pre-existing jar. I don't see what is different about the 2
jars so I thought it must be a configuration issue but can't find that
either.
Thanks,
Zennet
