I would definately create a jira account, submit a new request as a
"feater" request and then upload your code to the task.

This way you will get community feedback and the code maintainers can
review for inclusion or to superseed anything.

They use SVN, so if you would be able to post your code as patches, many
more people will be able to use & test it :)
