The OS is really not _that_ important here.  The speed of your disks
(e.g. 5,400 RPM, 7,200 vs. 10/15,000 RPM, IDE, vs. SATA, vs. RAID of
some kind), the file system, the CPU and network connection are more
important.

I'm using Nutch with RedHat and Fedora.
