First, let me explain what I want to do. I currently run the www.cityofevanston.org website, and I would like to move away from the current search engine that we are using. However, I'm not sure how to implement some of the things that our current search engine is doing in Nutch. The biggest concern is that right now, users have the ability to search the "entire" site, or to limit their searches to things like meeting minutes (which is nothing more than a specific collection of PDFs). They also have the ability to include or exclude the library site from their search, which is currently separated from our own.
