Hi All, It turned out to be that the nutch bash script doesn't like Window style spaces in subdirectory names. I had put the nutch distro in "Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\nutch-0.9". That's where the "Files\Apache" came from; apparently the parser is not correctly handling the space after Program. So technically I believe that it is a bug in nutch - either the bash script or else the Crawl class.
So my deviation from Peter Wang's step by step guide causes problems. When I moved nutch to a subdirectory containing no spaces problem solved! It is very well done! I do have one issue when I try to generate a crawl in Windows XP. When I run bin/nutch crawl I get the following error: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: files\apache I am not sure why this is. Has anyone encountered this before? Thanks in advance, Bob Brehm
