Your messages indeed initially didn't get through, because (as Otis said) you weren't subscribed to the list. Each time someone like this sends a message to the list, it needs to be moderated (by me, or other 2 guys). We are all volunteers with daily jobs, so sometimes it takes a day or two.
I would have expected more of a Welcom to Nutch, thanks for using our product type attitude. Instead of a you ask bad questions, stop bothering us type attitude.
You _are_ welcome. However, Nutch is a project and not a product. It's driven by a community of volunteers, and not paid staff. Therefore it is expected that people value each other's time, and do some research themselves before asking really basic questions.
