Hi, This is defined in hadoop-default.xml. Copy the relevant property to a file called hadoop-site.xml and change the directory to something suitable on your system. If you think this would be good to document, please edit the relevant page on the Wiki - anyone can do it, just create an account on the Wiki and edit/add pages.
