Recrawling

So many links in the web without radical solution.
Is there any efficient, final script to do recrawling, without restarting
the client web app, and not just doing a new crawl and replacing the old
index (takes so much time) .
I have 0.9 version of nutch, later versions are welcome also if the best
solution is there.
