I'm currently testing a solution that involves starting a 
WLAN-connection-monitoring thread once a connect succeeds. The idea is this
thread will periodically (e.g. every 10s) check signal strength and if we
are still connected. If the signal strength of the connection drops below
scan_level (an SMF property, set by default to "weak"), or if the WLAN
disconnects, a scan is initiated in order to identify better WLANs (both in
terms of prioritization and signal strength). This will support roaming more
completely
than the current approach which relies on the every-120-sec periodic scan.
