Summary: still some lingering upgrade problems
Classification: Development
Product: nwam
Version: unspecified
Platform: ANY/Generic
OS/Version: All
Status: ACCEPTED
Status Whiteboard: nwam1-build:2009-05-07-nd
Severity: major
Priority: P3
Component: ON misc
AssignedTo: renee.danson at sun.com
ReportedBy: renee.danson at sun.com
QAContact: nwam-dev at opensolaris.org
I bfu'd the latest build on a fresh nv_111 be, and upon reboot,
network/physical:nwam went into maintenance.
The first time around, I (with some help from Anurag) found that when
nwamd exits in anticipation of the manifest-import, smf restarts the
service. This results in execution of the service stop method, which
attempts to restore the legacy location. But the legacy location
includes some smf properties that don't yet exist (because the new
service manifests have not yet been imported). The stop method was
exiting with a failure if it tried to set a non-existent service prop.
I changed the method script so that it would not exit in this case, and
encountered additional problems. This time, both nwam and the netcfg
service were in maintenance. The only error indicated in the service
log of either service was this message:
[ May 7 16:17:26 Could not interpret user property. ]
This was a new one for me...
