NWAM West: 8:30AM MPK/11:30AM BUR/3:30PM DUB

Attendees: Alan, Anurag, Victor, Michael, Darren, Karen, John, Renee

1. Phase 1 development status: see task wiki at
   http://wikis.sun.com/display/NWAM/P1+Dev+Task+Status.

   * location initialization timing issue: plan was for this to be
done by the net/location start method, as that service has the
needed filesystem dependency. But Michael ran into problems
with this in his testing. Anurag will investigate.

   * privilege issues: sysevent_bind_handle is happening after we drop
privs, but the setuid(0) workaround requires all privs, so this is
     currently failing. Alan will investigate.

   * wireless key slot numbers: RFE to add ability to specify a different
slot when creating a key, and/or associating a key with a known wlan
     object.

   * state reporting in nwamadm: rather than just active/inactive, we should
use more smf-like terms, which can convey more information: offline vs.
disabled, for example. The underlying code already uses these states,
it's just a matter of changing the nwamadm output. Anurag actually did
this in his update yesterday. Future enhancement would be to add something
like 'svcs -x' output that includes info about how the profile got to be
     in that state.

   * what does nwam do in the face of manual configuration changes? This is
discussed somewhere in the docs, but need to make sure it's covered in
     the nwamd man page.

   * we can't enforce bounds checking on mtu property, as that depends on
the underlying hardware. At least need reasonable diagnosability if
this is set incorrectly. Renee will investigate.

   * To better track issues like these, Renee will create a "whiteboard"
     wiki page. (http://wikis.sun.com/display/NWAM/P1+Dev+Whiteboard)

   * Beginning tomorrow, on dev team will have daily status con calls at
10 am pacific/1 pm eastern. Use regular meeting dial-in numbers.

2. PSARC Commitment
   * Docs are mostly ready, but would like team to review; so have asked
to push review date back to 3/25. This means materials are due 3/18.
Renee has updated the spec; will send out pointers to additional
     materials later today.

NWAM East: 6:00PM MPK/9:00AM BJS

Attendees: Eric, John, Lizhong, Alex, Karen, Victor, Renee

1. Man page details: would like to see more detail regarding
   * which properties are read-only

   * which subcommands are allowed in a given scope

Renee will take a look at adding this information.

Please use e-mail to let the development team know about things you find
that don't make sense, or aren't sufficiently documented. Thanks!
