Summary: nwamd generating high volume of syslog messages
Classification: Development
Product: nwam
Version: unspecified
Platform: ANY/Generic
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Status Whiteboard: nwam1-build:2009-04-23
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: ON daemon
AssignedTo: nwam-dev at opensolaris.org
ReportedBy: dkenny at opensolaris.org
QAContact: nwam-dev at opensolaris.org
On installing the 04/23 build I noticed that nwamd was generating a high volume
of syslog messages, causing syslogd and nwamd to chew CPU cycles.
The main issue is with the message:
...
nwamd[2392]: [ID 964550 daemon.error] 20: dlpi_recv(80aa7a4) = 4 9
last message repeated 21692 times
...
this same message seems to repeat a log until I stop the nwam service.
prstat shows:
PID USERNAME SIZE RSS STATE PRI NICE TIME CPU PROCESS/NLWP
947 root 721M 719M sleep 55 0 0:01:07 45% syslogd/15
2392 netadm 5092K 3852K run 30 0 0:00:50 35% nwamd/19
...
This makes the system quite unusable when it occurs.
