Hi, There's a section in the online help that needs slight clarification. During the review, Calum added a note to check on it.
The section in the OLH help says: When viewing information about your network, note that connection names are displayed with the format, <interface-type> (<link-name>): - <interface-type> is "Wired" or "Wireless". If multiple network interface cards (NICs) of the same type are installed, numbers are appended as required to make the name unique, for example, "Wired 1" or "Wireless 2". - <link-name> is the link's vanity name, for example net0. If the vanity name has not been defined, <link-name> is the default device name. *** The question is whether the name can be undefined or whether it just has the default name of the device? ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I should be on this alias, but cc juanita.heieck at sun.com, just in case. Thanks, Nita
