Thanks. It was because it had to be. I think if I'd had another two months to work on it, I probably would have been polishing corner cases for that long. It's not exactly elegant. My hope is that it's "good enough" to hold until the _real_ solution arrives in Phase 1, and doesn't scarf away too much time and effort.
