NWAM West: 8:30AM MPK/11:30AM BUR/3:30PM DUB

Attendees: Karen, Anurag, Michael, Steff, Victor, Erik, Renee

1. Phase 1 status
   - Schedule reports as of 10/29 are posted.
     Notes:
     * Priv/Auth tasks (PA1 and PA2) are needed for NC work; Renee will get
       those wrapped up in the next few days.
     * C-team checklist high priority, to get that process started.
     * Wifi team has committed to getting the drivers updated to the brussels
       framework, which will help the GUI to read wireless state more easily;
       need Darren's input on their proposed schedule for completing that work.

   - PSARC Inception was yesterday; went pretty smoothly. Discussion centered
     on the two questions in the issues file
     (http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/arc/caselog/2008/532/issues/);
     we need to be more clear about how the network/physical:default and the
     network/physical:nwam worlds interact in our documentation, and also
     cover more of our anticipated roadmap (how we move toward an nwam-only
     future).

2. Technical Issues:
   * 2008.11 docs: Steff has the section pretty much done; many thanks to
     Darren and others for their reviews. Also thanks to Darren for the
     screenshots.

   * 2009.04 docs: Will they need to cover phase 1, and how much will need
     to change? Much of the existing text should be able to be reused; but
     there will be lots of additions. CLI apps: nwamcfg and nwamadm will
     need to be covered; see draft man pages for a head-start on those
     (http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/nwam/p1spec/manpages/).

   * SMF CRs we're interested in:
        6623159 - refresh_on dependencies (RFE)
        6256370 - single_instance not enforced (bug)
     We have a reasonable workaround for the single_instance bug; but the
     refresh_on dependencies would be very useful for us (when swapping
     locations, being able to refresh ipsec services means we can atomically
     swap security policy, rather than having to unload old, reload new, and
     thus have a window with no policy in place). Anurag will follow up on
     smf-discuss to find out status of this RFE.

   * Question: where is location/ncp status tracked?  nwamd manages that;
     Michael will try to make available some additional details about that.

   * OS Ambassadors will be in MPK next week; there will be a presentation
     for them on current solaris networking projects, including NWAM. Would
     also be good if we could have a laptop running the phase 1 demo for them
     informally; if you have a spare, let Victor know!

NWAM East: 6:00PM MPK/9:00AM BJS

Attendees: Alex, Lizhong, Victor, Karen, John, Renee

1. Reviewed notes from earlier meeting; see above.

   on track. If you haven't already, please send Karen estimated completion
   dates for your tasks.

   this, hopefully next week.
