Hi,
I've tried the 06/03-nd build on two machine now, a MacBookPro and Toshiba
R600.
In both cases I don't appear to get any network other than lo - and I had a
cable connected on boot.
Here is a list of some of the issues I've experienced:
- On the OpenSolaris based machine I couldn't even log in because /home/darrenk
wasn't automounted from /export/home/darrenk - from all appearances
automount seems to be running apart from a curious error in
/var/adm/messages:
automountd[881]: ... daemon.error] server localhost not responding
I thought that this might somehow be related to the NoNet location, but I
can't be sure, but it seems to pop up regularly...
- I've tried plugging in/out the cables, but with no success, nothing seems to
happen in nwamadm interact -v
- In general nwamadm interact -v seems really quiet (but there was one
instance on plugging *in* a cable, I got prompted for a wireless key, but I
couldn't reproduce it).
- I left a machine sitting with nwamadm interact -v running, and unplugged the
cable - after a few minutes I got prompted for a WLAN key - so I entered it,
but it just kept prompting me. From looking at the dladm show-secobj output
it looked like a new key, with the BSSID suffix was created (even though
there was already one there on initial boot). It is the correct key, I
checked.
- No network devices appear to get plumbed at all:
# ifconfig -a gives:
lo0: flags=2001000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4,VIRTUAL> mtu 8232
index
1
inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000
lo0: flags=2002000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv6,VIRTUAL> mtu 8252
index
1
inet6 ::1/128
- nwamadm list seems to think all the links are offline (even with a cable
plugged in)
# nwamadm list gives:
TYPE PROFILE STATE
ncp User offline
ncp Automatic online
ncu:phys myk0 offline
ncu:ip myk0 offline
ncu:phys ath0 offline*
ncu:ip ath0 offline
loc Automatic offline
loc NoNet online
loc Legacy offline
I'm attaching logs, from both machines, the most active are the ones from the
r600...
Thanks,
Darren.
