One way to deal with this would be to make an nwam-simlink merge
gate.  That's what we're doing with RBridges -- we have a main ON gate
for the bridging work, and then Rishi has a separate rbridges-simlink
merge gate for testing with the new simlink feature.

It's a little more hassle, but not much, particularly since NWAM
shouldn't have much technical overlap with the simlink code.
