Updated summary to more accurately describe the need of the enhancement.
Re-filing under nwam so that networking can take a look at this. Resetting to
NEW for re-evaluation.

hostname get propagated to the DNS server (under certain conditions, when
feasible), so that the client can be accessed by name.
