I've seen this issue before where there were a recursive emission of signals to
get the wireless selection.

The issue was that we were emitting the signals to request the information
before evaluation of status was completed, this resulted in the status
remaining as uninitialized, which in turn caused the evaluation again, and so
on.

I've fixed this by now delaying the emission of the signals until after the
status evaluation has completed, thus avoiding this recursion.

This has been fixed in SVN and should be in the next GUI build.
