NOTICE OF RACE
General Information
This year’s Ranier Cup will be held in Cascade Locks, Oregon.
Cascade Locks is in the heart of the beautiful Gorge which is famous
for high winds and spectacular scenery. Out of district teams will be
provided boats, with prior reservation. Saturday and Sunday will
feature JV and Varsity collegiate format racing in FJ’s. All
ICSA-eligible sailing teams are welcome. A $30 per team charge will
include a barbeque Saturday evening for all team members and RC.

Saturday, April 8
9:00 am Registration
10:00am Skipper's Meeting
10:30am First Race
Sunday, April 9
10:00 am First start of the day
3:00 pm Races will not be started after this time
4:00 pm Awards Ceremony

Rules
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing
Rules of Sailing (RRS), (except as any of these are altered by the
Sailing Instructions or ICSA Procedural Rules), by the Sailing
Instructions, and by the ICSA Procedural Rules.  All competitors are
required to wear a life jacket while racing in accordance with ICSA PR
9(c).

Format
There will be separate starts for JV and Varsity fleets.

Entries
Teams will sign up during registration on the morning of April 15th.
There is a $30 reservation fee per school made out to “U of O
sailing” for barbeque expenses. An ICSA RP Form must also be
completed and signed by a representative from each team by the
conclusion of the event on Sunday. 

Boats & Trailer Storage
Northwest competitors will supply their own FJ's. Out of district
teams will be provided boats with a $100 per boat charter fee. Out of
district teams should contact Rob Dubuc at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
immediately if they need to charter. There may be a limit on how many
JV teams per school will be able to race due to limited amount of
boats in the district.  Boats and trailers may be kept at the location
of the event, free of charge for one night prior to the beginning of
racing until the end of the event on Sunday. Any boats or trailers
left on the premises outside this time frame are subject to removal. 

Housing
Most teams camp on site or stay at cabins available through a nearby
KOA. There is also a Best Western down the road from racing.
