Dear all Please find below a summary of issues discussed and actions agreed at Tuesday's (12/9/23) LMC-CD monthly forum.
Links with your (borough) LMC We have completed our local borough LMC elections and we are holding inaugural meetings, where members are considering how to engage with stakeholders including yourselves. We would welcome feedback on how to improve links and provision of support/information. Borough Based Partnerships (BBPs) Your feedback was that CDs would welcome LMC support/representation at BBPs. There was a general experience that primary care leads present (CDs) were in the minority and that the data presented focused on General Practice achievement, increasing responsibility and workload without considering the broader system. LMCs will again request representation and would be grateful if you could also raise this at your meetings. Issues needing PCN feedback/evidence: Payment issues If you are missing (22/23) payments, please send your evidence to the LMC office on [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> so that we can take this up with borough teams and/or escalate to Julie Sands as needed. Many thanks ARRS issues We heard from Hillingdon that ARRS roles are being used to compensate for vacancies in other parts of the system: physiotherapists; podiatrists; mental health workers and MSK first contact workers are being asked to work across secondary and community care instead of supporting General Practice. This work is inappropriate and is taking resource including funding away from General Practice patients. The LMC will raise this with borough teams on receipt of your email feedback. Capacity and Access Pilots * Supporting Resources Jamie will attend the steering group meeting (13/9/23) and ask for clarification of the funding streams to support the first wave pilots and for communication of this to CDs so that you can consider whether your PCN would benefit from taking part. Problems highlighted have included losing workforce to support a project without matched funding to replace them creating recruitment problems back at the practice. * Software and appointment mapping Some PCNs have purchased non-EMIS software that facilitates total triage and new pathways. However, the ICB is unable to map, count and reward the related appointments. Re-entering this back into EMIS would be onerous and time-consuming. The LMC will raise the need for a solution with the ICB. Timing of the LMC-CD forum - now on Teams! Following your feedback, the forums will be moved to 4th Tuesdays 1-2pm and will be on Teams. Please look out for your invitations. Please continue to keep us updated on any changes to your PCN leadership or membership. We can also deal with queries and issues off the listserver [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> .
